Introducing our friendly and experienced Smart Zone staff team!
MEET THE BOSS LADY
Lisa
My name is Lisa, and I have been part of Smart Zone since launching the business in 2001. A friend and I started Smart Zone after experiencing first-hand the lack of local wraparound care available for our own children.
My three daughters all attended Smart Zone while they were pupils at St. Sampson’s Primary School and, over the years, each of them has also worked within the setting in different roles. Smart Zone has truly been part of our family’s life for many years.
Alongside running Smart Zone, I spent 30 years working full-time as an Art teacher in local schools and colleges. In March 2026, I made the decision to leave teaching to focus fully on developing Smart Zone into a setting that continues to meet the needs of our children, parents, and wider community. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such a rewarding teaching career and to have been able to bring those skills and experiences into Smart Zone too.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends — walking, cooking, sharing meals together, and occasionally organising little trips away. I’m also passionate about arts and crafts and enjoy continually learning new creative skills, which I love sharing with others whenever I can.
My favourite thing about Smart Zone is the relationships built within the setting — between staff, children, and parents, but especially the friendships the children create with one another. It may sound like a cliché, but Smart Zone really does have a warm, supportive, family feel - a home from home for your children.

My name is Elena and I've been working at Smart Zone for the past 5 years. My favourite thing about working here is getting to be creative and helping the children complete different crafts and activities. I love seeing them enjoy themselves while learning new skills and expressing their creativity. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, doing puzzles and gaming in my spare time.

Mabel-Grace
Hi my name is Mabel-Grace and I’ve been working at Smart Zone since January 2024! I also work at St. Sampsons running Singing Lessons. Outside of work I love working out, whether that be in the gym or countryside runs/hikes. My biggest joy is music, I love everything about singing and performing. My favourite thing about Smart Zone is bonding with the children, it’s so lovely how excited they get to spend time with you and can’t wait to tell you all about their little lives! It really is the most wonderfully rewarding job.
Laura
My name is Laura and I have been working at Smart Zone since September 2025. I also work at Cricklade Manor Prep Nursery. As a busy mum, I enjoy reading and baking in my free time. Whilst at Smart Zone, I love being able to offer the children a wide variety of activities to take part in, including arts and crafts, sport and games. My son also attends Smart Zone and as a parent I really appreciate the dependable service and the nurturing environment that the club provides.
Sophie
Hi I’m Sophie and I’ve been working at Smart Zone since September 2025. I love to crochet and do competitive powerlifting. I often bring my little sister to Smart Zone and she loves it because she gets to meet and play with new people, and I like bringing her as it helps limit her screen time.
Samantha
Hi I'm Samantha and I've been working at Smart Zone for a year. I also work as Accounts Payable & Sales for an artisan Ravioli business and at the Cricklade House Hotel. My passion is horses, I love them and also being around water and watching my kids being around the water. I have 1 child who regularly attends SZ and another who comes periodically. I love working here, I really enjoy just being with the children who attend, learning about them, playing with them and supporting them. It's a really fun environment and I enjoy every single session. Come and try us at SZ, we are more than just a child minding service.
Lucy
Hi my name is Lucy and I've been working at Smart Zone since September 2025. I also work at St. Sampson's as a 1-2-1 TA and an MDSA. You'll know me from my very cool hair and big smile! I enjoy going to the theatre, the spa and spending time with my family, including watching my daughter learn to dive off a 3m platform! I have one child who attends SZ all the time and one who comes periodically. My favourite thing about working at SZ is being around the people I work with and the kids, it's such a fun place to work before and after school. I also love sorting through all of the toys, crafts and creating order.
